To Fly Poem
You wish to take flight.
To soar through life like those before you.
But you remain on the ground watching others fly away.
Believing your wings broken and clipped.
But a butterfly could despair in the past.
Never knowing the beauty it holds.
And silly you, you follow the butterfly.
Not knowing that your wings are too beautiful to appear in this life.
Far too precious for this rough world.
They would be shredded instantly.
Clawed apart by others like vicious animals.
So in your despair, know that you will fly.
Just in a better more gentle world.
