All is Said and Done Poem
I want to say that I did everything when all is said and done
Both a gift for you and for me.
Selfish on both accounts.
Double hopeful.
I do not make this wish lightly.
I say it with a hope of a better tomorrow.
That this would never mean the end of me.
Reaching beyond the gravity of now and stealing hope from the future.
My body may break and my mind might rend.
But let me carry pride of myself when all is said and done.
My heart craves that victory from the other side.
My wish is twin to yours, you know.
You have done all that you can do to help me succeed.
Who am I to tap out early after all of that work?
Let my wish reinforce the one you make daily.
Your work baring fruit no matter how long it takes to develop.
Please let you also be content by the time all is said and done.
Carrying you into a blissful future instead of a sad one as I am reshaped.
