Dive In Poem
I was never taught how to swim.
Even so, I will try to dive in.
I have always enjoyed a challenge,
Yet I know that it could steal my breath.
A dark chance that might happen eventually if not now.
How else could I ever learn?
***
My heart yearns for a win.
So I try to dive right in.
Someone might rescue me if I fail but it is never guaranteed.
I could drown where I lay.
Flailing useless against my own consequences.
But how else could I ever learn?
***
I am farther than I have ever been.
So I dive right in.
Otherwise I would forever have to avoid the water.
Limits forever set to the bounds I know.
Never truly exploring all that is available to me.
How else could I ever learn?
