Healing Poem
Does it hurt?
Good.
No, I am not wishing pain upon you.
I just know what it means.
What a blessing it is.
That you continue to draw breath still.
***
It hurts because you are past it.
The damage has already occurred and yet you remain.
The throbbing, dull persistent ache.
Tingling across the skin like a loose thread.
Process required though unwanted.
Something that you know all too well.
***
The only way forward is up.
Healing is yours.
Resolution of a problem you carried for so long.
It is never comfortable.
Starts with a cry and ends with a whimper.
But always has an end.
***
I do not wish you pain.
I wish you the healing you need.
Drawn into your being.
Resolution you will not need a repeat of.
So if it hurts, good.
Better to get it right the first time.
