Tears Poem
Loud tears are a mixed bag.
They could be just for show.
A cry for attention but no real pain.
Crossed wires between need and want.
Screaming for a parent across the room.
Used because they know it works.
***
Loud tears can also be desperation.
Searching for help as a last resort.
Support from the world or another human, it does not matter.
As long as help arrives on time.
Anything to stop the pain.
***
The real danger is the quiet tears.
No longer broadcasting pain at all.
No help is expected for the pain is too large.
The tears roll down because this is the end.
No struggle left to give.
There is no more dangerous place than there.
***
All tears end eventually.
Some quicker than others.
In proportion to the pain.
At the end of it all, the tears will stop with a quiet sigh.
Pain faded into the background like another shadow.
Then you can rest and dry your face.
