Believe Me Poem

Believe me when I speak.

For my words come from the heart.

Are measured by the brain.

Tempered by the tongue.

Designed to bridge the gap.

But reach you in the middle.

***

Believe me when I think.

For I think with you in mind.

Trying to design a better path for the both of us.

Charted using both of our stars.

Your words the steering wheel.

Avoiding the ice bergs using the warmth of imagination and the wind a measure of patience.

***

Believe me when I feel.

For my first instinct is usually right.

Though I trust it less than I say.

And sometimes rely on you to make things right.

A sensation I always tend to ignore in favor of others.

Yet you are there to notice what I never speak.

***

Would you believe me if I said that I loved you?
