Everyone hates potholes. They can damage the car and are uncomfortable. Common areas that never really seem to be repaired all the way. That I am also used to at least to a degree. What is inexcusable is when roads are neglected to a degree that causes very real pain.

I went to the mall yesterday. At least a dying mall. Only about half the stores are occupied. Far different from what I remember when a kid. Tangent aside, it is going to be converted into housing when it does eventually bites the dust. With this in mind, they are no longer bothering to repair certain things that contractors will eventually fix. My car hit a very sunken drain line rather violently. Car was fine and a typical person might be. But I am disabled and don’t handle manhandling well. As a consequence I am currently nursing whiplash and a minor concussion. All because of a poorly maintained parking lot.

I went into the parking lot with an uninjured neck and left in pain. I cannot imagine what would happen if someone with a pre existing neck injury tried to go. There were no orange cones, markings, or warnings to prepare me. No way to know to take a different route. If I had money, I might consider suing. Instances like this are a level beyond thoughtless. It is dangerous. I hate to imagine how many other injury causing roads are out there. Yet another dangerous obstacle for the disabled and injured to look out for.
