Perspective Change Poem
I am faced with a challenge.
A problem needed to be solved.
Monumental in difficulty.
One I need to find the solution for.
There has to be an answer.
It would not be a designed problem otherwise.
***
I have done everything to try to solve it.
Tried a hundred different methods.
Even tried solving it inversely.
Doing the opposite of how I think it it might be solved.
At last resort, tried to force a different solution entirely.
All failures.
***
I stop and take a breath.
Lie down in the dark away from the problem.
Converse with the moon.
Tell it of my hopes and fears.
Methods of victory still running through my head.
A slideshow of everything encountered but fluid like the moonlight.
***
My frustration cooled by the time the warm sun has risen.
With one more calm breath I face the problem again.
The solution shifts into focus like magic.
Solvable all that time and easy in the end.
All it took was a different perspective.
And a conversation between me and the moon.
