The Perfect Trick Poem
There is a kind of trick that nobody sees coming.
A kind where the impact is greatest.
A secret double blind that is born out of accident.
Perfect circumstance yielding the most unexpected version of reality.
Ignorance and innocence its parents.
Work that does far from delight.
***
The tricked impacted in a way that they never wanted.
Blamed for not having knowledge that they should never had to keep.
Forced to handle all outcomes.
Left holding the bill.
Cursed with realization far too late to help.
A losing situation.
***
The trickster equally unaware but not in the same way.
No consequences unless the new knowledge of ignorance is counted.
Research left previously undone.
Or a lack of true care for the outcome.
Perhaps a lesson learned.
Or just one mistake but never a loss.
***
Everyone in the situation is tricked.
And the real trick is that the trick effects everyone differently.
A negative to one and a lesson for another.
It could also easily happen again.
A new trickster for every ignorance.
Would you rather be the tricked or the trickster?
