No Change Poem
Some things never change for good or bad.
That makes them both bad in the end.
Stunted growth and improvement hand in hand.
Never truly learning or moving forward.
Stuck in a horrible stasis.
True dead end.
***
“I DO NOT TRUST YOU ANYMORE. YOU THROW OUT THINGS THAT I LOVE.”
***
Some things can be altered by your own will but some things lay with others.
The true insight is knowing which is the case.
Straining against an immovable object.
Praying for a change that might never happen.
It might not make the situation easier to handle.
But at least that energy remains with you.
***
“I STOPPED TRUSTING YOU A LONG TIME AGO TOO. YOU ALWAYS ACCUSE ME OF THROWING OUT THINGS YOU HAVE LOST AND WHEN YOU DO FIND THEM YOU NEVER APOLOGIZE!”
***
Sometimes pushing back even hurts worse in the end.
Digging in the wound deeper.
A new betrayal added to a record you do not want to keep.
It can be better to move on in other ways even if you cannot escape.
Preservation of sanity and spirit.
Self defense with no attack.
***
“THAT’S NOT TRUE.”
***
Sometimes people beyond those involved get drawn in as well.
A sudden black hole drawing all around into destruction.
Stuck in the same way that those originally involved are.
A listening ear from another room.
An unfortunate family member seeing it all in person.
A dependent unable to find other arrangements.
***
“OH YES IT IS. HAVE YOU BEEN DRINKING?”
***
The suffocating feeling of being trapped.
Support systems exhausted completely.
Searching for similar situations online.
Left in the end with only your own traits to build on.
A necessary strength and path for survival.
Maybe there was a path of improvement in the end.
***
It goes on.
