Foundations Poem

Nobody can tell me that I built my foundation on sandy ground.

Not even myself.

I have leaned on that foundation from every small bump to the largest earthquakes.

I’ve built a tower to live in with everything I require.

Touching the sky and covered in the colors of imagination.

None of it would exist without the foundation.

***

Without the foundation, it would have crumbled long ago.

Buried me along with it.

Shaken until not even a brick remains.

Remember to ignore the sandy ground along with the gravel and loose stones.

Otherwise you will fair no better.

Only the echos of dreams left behind.
