To My Frustrations Poem
I try to please you,
But it is never enough.
Barely worthy of a greeting.
An absence that I should not have to try to fill.
Ignoring responsibility and all I love.
Selfish to the extreme.
***
I ask for needed help,
But end up having to beg for my existence.
You claim you live to help,
But instead live for the recognition only.
Turning on a dime when you feel like you don’t receive it.
Permanently searching for what you feel is missing.
***
I rely on you,
Because I have no other options.
I walk a tightwire between our needs,
But seem to fall more than I succeed.
Bending over backwards to cling to the pillar more tightly.
Bound by both my limits and those imposed.
***
The rest of you are distant.
Stuck away from me either physically or mentally.
In your own busy families, jobs, lives.
At times, I can even be in the same room as you.
Just a world away.
A different type of existence.
