Owning a Therapy Dog

It was during a difficult time where my mom suggested that I get an emotional support dog. With nothing else to grab onto for relief, I set to surfing adoption pages and shelter sites for the perfect buddy.
I eventually came across two puppies that had been surrendered. I applied immediately for one of them. Unfortunately I was not chosen, but that put my family first in line for the brother. After many many many form fillings and checks, we were accepted.
My mom, dad, and I all got in the car on a rainy late winter day. We drove up to the foster house and picked him up. I fell in love even harder for him at first sight. His name was originally Liam but we renamed him Kiko. At the tender age of five weeks old we took him home.

Kiko was very timid at first but I was able to hold him almost immediately. He took very little time warming up to us. After he was potty trained, I started having daily cuddle sessions with him. He has been a wonderful boon for both my mental health and soul. I love him to death and enjoy his shenanigans.
I am so glad I found him.
